eHMIS is a product being developed by Digital Prodigy (Pvt) Ltd to introduce user-friendly HMIS system. The design of the system is made keeping in view the local user base in Pakistan.

Realizing the great need of proper system Digital Prodigy has been developing HMIS system for public healthcare systems. E-HMIS enables the electronic exchange of information between various departments within the hospital as well as external agencies such as governmental departments. It helps healthcare managers handle administrative duties more effectively and facilitates interaction between the hospital and its patients.

The E-HMIS will automate the patient registration system so that a new patient coming to the hospital will be assigned a Unique patient identification number. This patient ID number will be used to identify the patient throughout the visit. This will also be used for his possible future visits. Thus the patient’s demographic details, history, examination findings and other relevant medical records will be made available to the doctors, nurses and the administration whenever and wherever required.

The system is network based and all the information can be made accessed throughout the hospital. The “Chit System” that is currently in place in various government hospitals will be replaced by the automatic data transfer through the network. Thus any patient requiring a Lab test or Radiological imaging will not need to take along a receipt, instead his information will already be sent to the relevant department through the network. A lab and radiological management system will automate the functions of these departments so that paper work is eliminated.
